Tile & Grout Cleaning:

tile_grout_cleaning_santa_rosa-2Porcelain and ceramic tiles are some of the most abused and ignored floor and wall coverings, possibly because of the tedious labor involved in cleaning it.  No one looks forward to hands-and-knees scrubbing of tile and grout lines, using harsh chemicals and small scrub brushes.

But when done right, the resulting cleaned and sealed tile floors look amazing!  No matter what room your tile is in, the stubborn stains, embedded bacteria and germs will rinse away with our experience and equipment.  Even with difficult and unpopular projects such as this, at Carpet One Cleaning we’re dedicated to keeping your home clean, healthy and looking its best.

Porcelain and Ceramic Tile:

Tile is a man-made clay fired material that does not normally require any protective treatment.  It is the glaze itself that gives the tile its excellent protection and resistance to the absorption of soil.  The grout, however, does need to be sealed to keep soil and bacteria from penetrating.

Maintenance:

General cleaners not specifically formulated for natural stone or tile are never recommended.  These can breakdown the sealer, thereby removing its protective properties and making the tile susceptible to stains.  Worse yet, many cleaning products, including those that contain lemon, vinegar, bleach or ammonia can etch away the polish or discolor the tile.  Many cleaners have a chelating agent in them, which breaks down and dissolves minerals in hard water.  Since all stone is made up of minerals, these types of cleaners will dissolve and cause streaks over prolonged use.  Therefore, always clean with a neutral cleaner and one specifically for your flooring type.
